Ages 8 through high school

In the state of Connecticut, competitive travel soccer officially begins at U9, and is a player and parent's first opportunity to experience the process of competitive soccer tryouts. Travel teams are formed based on number of "qualified" players available, and depending on the policy of the town, are formed as "balanced" or "ability based" teams. At the U9 through U14 age groups town travel teams play both a fall and spring season. Beginning at U15, travel soccer is only offered in the spring. Travel soccer teams compete in league play within their district, and may also elect to compete in State Cup Competition. Currently U9/10 competes in a 8v8 format with a full roster of 14 player, and U11 and up play an 11v11 format with a full roster of 18 players

Mickey Kydes Soccer has many years of experience when it comes to directing, organizing and developing town travel soccer programs. Currently Mickey Kydes Soccer serves as the coaching director and director of travel soccer for the Westport Soccer Association and Old Greenwich / Riverside Community Center. Between these two programs Mickey Kydes Soccer is responsible for delivering a high level travel soccer experience to over 45 town travels teams between the U9 and high school age groups.
